Only where children gather is there any real chance of fun.
Mignon McLaughlin
In today’s day and age, many children are having less time to socialise and build up these vital skills. Children are spending longer hours at school, in very structured environments, then going home to spend time watching television or playing computer games. Their main interaction can sometimes be reduced solely to being with other people all sitting behind screens.
Children are losing the ability to learn social skills, i.e., how to make friends, how to use eye contact, tone of voice and body language. They are not sure how to conduct themselves in interviews for school and as a result, for jobs in later life. They are also not sure in some instances how to use their imaginations for unstructured safe play.
Janine continues to set up groups of children and run a 4-week course on learning these vital life & communication skills.
